New College Society Media Network Drinks and Panel Discussion, 7 March 2024

The question is not whether AI will completely transform the media industry but how we will adapt to this tsunami of synthetic competence and creativity. It’s perhaps unavoidable that there will be winners and losers but the tools at our disposal have never been more exciting.

New College Old Members, and a guest, are warmly invited to join the New College Society Media Network event at the offices of Made by Many from 6.30pm on Thursday 7th March 2024 for drinks and a panel discussion. The event is organised by New College's Media Committee Chair Charlotte Mikkelborg and the venue is kindly hosted by Old Member, Tim Malbon (1989), at the picturesque Diespeker Wharf, Islington N1.

Panelists

  • Alex Ruhl – PWC’s UK Head of Immersive Technology
  • Theo Jones - VFX Supervisor from Framestore - the post house behind multiple blockbusters including the Paddington films
  • Rupert Breheny - Vogue Photographer and Gen AI speaker
  • Colin Byrne - Film and TV producer

So come and join us for a glass of wine/cold beer and some fascinating insights into AI.

Tickets are available from the University of Oxford Online Store payment link, at a cost of £15 per person to cover drinks and nibbles. We expect high demand for this event so please book early!

We very much look forward to seeing you in March at what promises to be a fantastic event!
