Mark Stokes RIP

It is with very great sorrow that I write to inform you that Mark Stokes, until recently our fellow in psychology, died yesterday evening. Elected in 2015, he had been fighting a malignant cancer valiantly for the last two years.  In that period he never complained, never showed despair.

We will remember him as someone of great generosity of spirit, always seeing the positive in people and things, a highly engaging and popular tutor, a distinguished neuroscientist, and someone who carried an infectious sense of humour with him wherever he went. He was very attached to New College and thinking of it in his last days. Typically his final public message read: ‘I leave this crazy world with much love in my heart’.

Our own love and sympathy go out to his family, colleagues and friends.
