Two College Fellows Awarded Professorships

Congratulations to New College Fellows Andrew Counter and Grant Churchill, both of whom were awarded the title of professor in the 2022 recognition of distinction exercise. 

Professor Andrew Counter and Professor Grant Churchill

Andrew Counter, Professor of Modern French Literature, is Tutor in French at New College. His research considers the intersections of law, politics, sexuality and literature in France between the Revolution and the Second World War. 

Grant Churchill, Professor of Chemical Pharmacology, is Tutor in Medicine here at New College. His research focuses on understanding how small molecules inside cells act as messengers to control physiology and how mimics of these messenger molecules can be used as chemical tools and drugs.
