Step-Up Residential

Last week, we hosted over 80 Year 12 students here at New College as part of our flagship outreach programme, Step-Up.

The Step-Up Residential gave a taste of what it would really be like to study at Oxford. The students stayed in the College overnight, and participated in a series of sessions covering everything from money management to welfare, to what to do when you’re missing home. They also enjoyed a Politics lecture from Prof Liz Frazer and a Chemical Engineering lecture from Prof René Bañares Alcántara, as well as an opportunity to have an informal chat with a Tutor from their chosen subject.

We are very grateful to our Step-Up ambassadors from the JCR who made the event such a huge success.
