Robert Quinney Plays J.S. Bach at the Southbank Centre
New College Organist and Tutor in Music Robert Quinney is performing at the Royal Festival Hall on Friday 3rd March at 7:30pm.
Robert will put the Royal Festival Hall’s splendid organ through its paces in an evening devoted to the uplifting works of JS Bach.
His programme features two of the composer’s most celebrated Toccata and Fugues, as well as two trio-sonatas, which show the composer’s more intimate approach to the organ.
The recital concludes with the gigantic Passacaglia BWV.582. This is a chance to enjoy Bach at his most virtuosic, writing for the instrument at which he spent so much of his long life.
