New Choir CD - New College Commissions & Premieres

The choir has recently launched its new CD with Linn Records – a celebration of the choir’s commitment to new music over the past century.

The programme is framed round three settings of the Evensong canticles by Paul Drayton, Herbert Howells, and most recently by Deborah Pritchard, which stands next to a new anthem by Caitlin Harrison as examples of 21st-century commissions. William Harris’s celebrated Faire is the Heaven marks the start of the century and Leighton’s heart-rending Crucifixus pro nobis, from the mid-century, features former academical clerk Nick Pritchard as the tenor soloist.
