Executive Head Chef gives cooking masterclass at Wood Farm Primary School

Executive Head Chef, Sam Cruickshank, visited Wood Farm Primary School during Trinity Term where he gave a masterclass on balancing flavours and eating a balanced diet.

Sam, who has given several masterclasses at Wood Farm, also went through some preparation skills with the Year 4 children. Having learnt a lot about his job, the children are now using so much of what he taught them to create a balanced menu in their cooking lessons.

New College has had a formal partnership with Wood Farm Primary School for two years. The partnership has been facilitated by Oxford Hub, a local charity which has created volunteering programmes and community projects across Oxford. Previous projects have included trips to New College, loaning gowns for a university taster day, providing equipment for the school's nativity play and giving school assemblies.
