Congratulations to Rachel Reeves

Warm congratulations to Old Member and Honorary Fellow, Rachel Reeves, on being appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer. From 2021 she has been Shadow Chancellor. Rachel is the first woman in UK history to hold this cabinet post.

New College can now claim two Chancellors. Hugh Gaitskell served in 1950-1951.

Rachel matriculated here in 1997 and read PPE.  She regularly returns to the College, and we hope the cares of office will still allow her to do that.
