Candlemas at New College

Join in the ancient tradition of blessing the light in the dark of winter at this Sunday’s Candlemas evensong at 5.45pm. The closing procession is not to be missed, as we mark the turning of the year with the strains of Eccard’s haunting ‘When to the temple Mary Went’. The service lasts about an hour and finishes with drinks in the cloisters. The Revd Dr Hester Jones, Dean of Chapel at Winchester College, is preaching.
