New antiquarian gallery

Images from College’s early printed book collection

An antiquarian gallery of images from our early printed book collection has now been formulated to showcase some of the volumes, dating from the 1400s to late 1800s. There are woodcut illustrations as demonstrated here by Luther’s “monster”, an illumination in an incunabulum, fine bindings, important provenance signatures, astronomical/astrological pictures, botanical and zoological images as well as original art works.

We do hope you will enjoy this new gallery and perhaps may wish to re-visit the manuscript gallery, which has recently had new items added. Both can be accessed either via the Library and Archives webpage or Photo Galleries.
